Crossword Puzzler Vol. 1

Crossword Puzzler Vol. 1 contains 30+ custom-made crossword puzzles! The puzzles generally steer clear of obscure clues--you won't find any clues involving "the third-longest river in Germany" or anything like that. Instead you'll find more pop-culture references than usual, along with some extra twists like basic spanish words, computer terms...even "LOL"....

Basic puzzle layout
Here we see the basic layout, with a particular word selected. The clue for this word is "Karate master's accessory", shown in the title bar at the top of the screen:

Because we know where we are in the puzzle at all times, using numbers for the across & down clues really isn't necessary:

We can also "pencil in" letters by holding down the alt or shift keys. Here, we've penciled in "SKITS":

Intersecting Clues
While this basic view is great for seeing a lot of the puzzle at once, it can be helpful to see clues for words which intersect the word we're working on:

The clue for the word we're currently working on, "Marxism's Marx", is highlighted in yellow on the left side. The intersecting Across clues are shown above it, and the corresponding words are grayed out slightly in the puzzle grid.

All-clue View
We can also view a big list of clues without the puzzle grid. Some folks find this an easier way to start a puzzle, to find a clue they can solve right off the bat:

This all-clue view is configured to show the already-completed letters after the clue. Already-completed words are also grayed out. From the all-clue view, clicking the trackball or typing a letter will jump back to the puzzle view with the correct word highlighted.

Settings & options
Many different settings & options are available, along with Hints and the ability to show all incorrect letters in the puzzle:

The appearance of the puzzle & clues can be heavily configured. Here are some of the settings:

For example, here's a puzzle with the main font set to Medium, the intersecting clue font set to Small, the intersecting clues set to gray-out-completed-words, and the word length set to show after the clue:

Here's an all-clue view with the font set to Small, completed-letters turned off, and completed-words hidden:

Basically, we tried to make it as configurable as possible!
